After this period, performance returns to its original state. 2.0 Pre-Requisites and Dependencies 2.1 Hardware Requirements VS 6230. 2.2 Software Requirements VS Operating System Series version 7.50.00 or later. 3.0 Restrictions and Special Considerations CP Microcode version 09.81.76 is functionally equivalent to version 09.81.15. Turbo speed enhancement requires the system to be IPLed using a 4-digit date. IPLing with a 2-digit date will produce no change in performance. 4.0 Enhancements None. 5.0 Problems Corrected None. 6.0 Known Anomalies None. 7.0 Media Contents Library = CSRNLIB Module Version Description VS6230T 02.00.00 Software Release Notice Library = INSTALL TRYTURBO 02.00.00 Installation Procedure Library = @SYSTEM@ @MCCP11@ 09.81.76 CP11 CP Microcode 8.0 Installation Instructions 1) With the system IPL'ed as is, run the installation procedure located on the installation diskette (File = TRYTURBO, Lib = INSTALL, Vol = TURBO). This procedure uses the VS BACKUP utility to install the necessary file into the appropriate library on the IPL volume. The file installed is: @MCCP11@ The CPU microcode is installed in library @SYSTEM@ on the ________ "IPL" volume (as supplied to the installation procedure). The existing @MCCP11@ is renamed to @CP11CPU if the file @CP11CPU does not exist. Otherwise, the existing @MCCP11@ is not saved. 2) After the installation procedure has completed, re-IPL the system. 3) Repeat the software upgrade procedure in step 1 for all alternate IPL volumes on the system.
