          RELEASE ABSTRACT

                The @70V67 microcode file is for use with the 70V67 serial I/O
                controller product.

                This microcode supports baseband, fiber optic and broadband link level
                protocols.

                This release is linked with IO Protocol Library (PROTOLIB) 1.09.00.



          PREREQUISITES & DEPENDENCIES

                HARDWARE PREREQUISITES

                70V67 serial I/O controller

                SOFTWARE PREREQUISITES

                VS OS release 7.32.03, 7.40.01, 7.50.00 or greater is required for the
                initial support of this product.



          RESTRICTIONS AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

                When configuring peripheral band on the controller, the network
                connection must be in place and the peripheral band modem powered-on in
                order for the controller to operate properly.

                The IOPMON event trace facility and device memory peruse are not
                implemented.



          ENHANCEMENTS SINCE VERSION 01.00.09

                Cache memory utilization modified.








          PROBLEMS CORRECTED SINCE VERSION 01.00.09

                Non workstation devices, such as printers, attached to WACS would
                sometimes fail to load code.  Problem corrected.

                Successful retries in data transfers were not being reported as soft
                errors.  Problem corrected.

                Errors with workstations not reloading after disconnect (introduced in
                versions x1.01.00) has been corrected.

          INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

                The file must be copied from the distribution media to @SYSTEM@ on the
                system volume.  After copy/rename, the system must be re-IPL'd for the
                microcode to become effective.
