SOFTWARE RELEASE NOTICE for 50V14 Fiber Optic RSF MicroCode Version 03.01.00 28-May-1997 (W0000600;WPPIOC;22) 1. Release Abstract The @50V14 microcode file is for use with the 50V14 RSF Fiber Optic (FDDI) Resource Sharing Facility I/O controller product. This can be installed in any of the VS 5000 or 6000 series minicomputers. This microcode supports the RSF protocol and is functionally equivalent to the 70V14 RSF product. This microcode supports a maximum of 8 physical stations. 2. Prerequisites & Dependencies 2.1 Hardware Prerequisites VS 5000 or 6000 series minicomputer. 2.2 Software Prerequisites VS OS release 7.53.00 or later is required for the support of this product and all systems in the cluster must be at the same Operating System level. If any @70V14 IOCS (high end VS systems) exists in the cluster the @70V14 microcode must be at a minimum revision of 3.01.00. 3. Restrictions and Special Considerations All systems must upgrade the RSF microcode at the same time in order for the cluster to function properly. All systems in the cluster MUST be at the same VS OS level. 4. Enhancements Version 3.01.00 is the first release of @50V14 microcode. 5. Problems Corrected Version 3.01.00 is the first release of @50V14 microcode. 6. Known Anomalies When an attached cluster node is re-ipled without first detaching it may not attach on the first attempt after IPL. A manual detach and attach sequence will correct the problem. 7.
